A Little About Myself

What Led Me Here

Beth Drennen

Throughout my adult life, I have been blessed with various opportunities to aid in understanding the unique experiences of my clients. I find that each door that opens leads me to a broader understanding of those I am blessed enough to encounter, and my areas of specialization reflect my willingness to assist those facing the most challenging of situations. I believe that the struggles of the individual should be viewed through their connection to the environment around them. I assist clients in identifying their strengths and strengthening their areas of need.

Prior to my formal experience as a therapist, I assisted men and women experiencing domestic violence as they navigated the legal system. I then worked with foster children and their families in group home, foster home, and biological home settings, which led me to pursue working with the population I am most passionate about – those with special needs. My knowledge about the dynamics of this population is drawn from personal family experience, opportunities to work with a few precious children with special needs in their own homes, and professional experiences in the school setting as well as the mental health setting. It is with enthusiasm that I offer group treatment and caregiver support to those with special developmental and mental health needs, and their families.

Of course, I also find myself working with many other varieties of individuals and families! I look forward to meeting you so that we can confirm we connect and I can meet your needs as a therapist.
